Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Quessy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Adam Pereira!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira darts in looking for a takedown but Quessy gets double underhooks and turns Pereira into the cage.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Quessy catches Pereira with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Pereira tries for a takedown but Quessy circles away easily
and Quessy counters with a nice uppercut.
Thomas Quessy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Pereira.
Quessy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pereira or perhaps it was just good defense by Quessy, which made it look bad.
Pereira fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Quessy lands a slapping body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pereira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Quessy defends it nicely.
Quessy throwing a counter right hand but Pereira manages to avoid it.
Quessy tests Pereira's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Quessy cracks Pereira with an open hand slap.
Quessy connects with a body shot.
Pereira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Quessy pinned against the cage. Quessy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pereira.
A quick step to the side and Quessy tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pereira looks winded!
Quessy lands a big right hand that sends Pereira crashing to the mat! Quessy stays standing though and waves Pereira back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pereira fails with the takedown
and Quessy counters with a crisp right hand that drops Pereira! Quessy lets Pereira back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Pereira is rocked!
Quessy lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Pereira falls backwards - clearly groggy! Quessy dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Quessy!
