Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Hent (ranked 4631 p4p, 4513 weight class) and Ronnie Garvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harvey Hent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Garvin!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garvin lands an overhand right.
Garvin clinches up with Hent and pushes him back against the cage.
Hent tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Garvin smiles and moves away.
Hent tries to keep at a distance but Garvin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hent escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Garvin moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garvin pulls guard successfully.
Hent has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Garvin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hent uses from the top position.
Garvin throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hent uses it to pass to side control.
Hent decides to stand back up. Hent steps back and let's Garvin get back to his feet.

Hent is trying to push Garvin away but Garvin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hent jumps guard but Garvin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hent is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hent is looking to break free of the clinch but Garvin has double underhooks.
Hent pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Garvin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hent, pushing him back against the cage.

Hent lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Garvin moves into range and clinches up with Hent.
Garvin jumps guard and drags Hent to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garvin has his hands on Hent's head, controlling the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Garvin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Garvin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Garvin forces Hent back against the cage and clinches.
Hent is fighting off a takedown attempt but Garvin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hent to the mat. Hent regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Hent wants to stand and escape but Garvin is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ronnie Garvin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Garvin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Garvin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Garvin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Garvin manages to end up in side control.
Hent wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Garvin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hent to his feet.
Garvin lands a two punch combo.

Garvin takes the fight into the clinch.
Garvin has hold of one of Hent's legs. Hent is fighting the takedown attempt but Garvin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Garvin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hent might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Garvin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Garvin is standing up over Hent. Hent looks to escape but Garvin dives into side control.

Garvin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Hent is trying to get back to his feet.
Garvin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garvin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Garvin slows the pace down.

Ronnie Garvin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Garvin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
