Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Murylo Mesquita (ranked 3137 p4p, 3399 weight class) and Chow Man (ranked 324 p4p, 343 weight class). Chow Man is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Murylo Mesquita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chow Man!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita throws a poor cross that misses

and Man moves into the clinch.

Man has hold of one of Mesquita's legs. Mesquita is fighting the takedown attempt but Man gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Mesquita is looking to sweep but instead, Man has passed into half guard.
Mesquita is trying to control but can't.
Man is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Man looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mesquita wants to improve his position but Man is controlling well.
Man tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mesquita.
Man is taking a breather. Mesquita says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Man works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mesquita tries to lock up and control but Man gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Man sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Man avoids the attempt from Mesquita to control.
Mesquita tries to reverse the position but Man maintains control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man looking to finish with strikes here!
Man punching from mount but Mesquita doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Mesquita tries to hold on but Man postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Man thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mesquita is looking to improve his position but Man isn't that keen on the idea.
Mesquita bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Man lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Chow Man dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Mesquita dives in and grabs Man's left leg, looking for a takedown. Man pushes down on Mesquita's head and hops out.

Man fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mesquita sprawls well initially but Man persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Man slows the pace down in half guard.
Man trying to mount his opponent but Mesquita defends it.

Man is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mesquita defends it well.
Man looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man slows the pace down in half guard.

Mesquita won't allow Man to pass to mount.
Man stalling.
Man has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mesquita tries to roll but Man sticks to his back.
Man trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Mesquita doesn't escape.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mesquita is in bad spot here.
Man is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Mesquita trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Man has good solid back control here.

Chow Man showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mesquita shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Man pinned against the cage. Man gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Man counters by clinching up.

Mesquita looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Man has picked Mesquita up and slammed him! Mesquita can't keep hold of the triangle and Man manages to pass to side control!
Mesquita tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Man landing a few strikes.
Mesquita parries the strikes from Man easily there. Man is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mesquita to escape.
Chow Man is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Mesquita's face as Man controls the position.
Mesquita trying his best to control but Man has mounted him.
Man takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mesquita is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mesquita blocking the ground and pound.
Mesquita wants to hold on but Man pushes him away.
Mesquita keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Man sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mesquita tries to hold on but Man postures up.
Murylo Mesquita has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Man content just to control the position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
BOOM! Man connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Chow Man comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Man has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
