Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Madden Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Hogan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Madden Rush! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rush throws a big shot that misses. Rush motions for Hogan to come forward. Rush throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rush misses with a kick to the body.
Rush scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Rush trying to advance position but Hogan counters by regaining guard. Rush landing with the ground and pound. Rush preventing the sweep. Rush looking to pass the guard. Hogan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rush defends well. Rush postures up.
Hogan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rush trying to control the position from guard on top but Hogan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rush wants to pass the guard but Hogan is keeping the position. Rush throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hogan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hogan looking to control.
Hogan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rush swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hogan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rush counters by clinching up. Rush turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rush manages to end up in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hogan to his feet. Hogan checks a low kick from Rush. Hogan tries for a takedown but Rush sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Madden Rush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rush fails to land with a series of punches.
Rush misses with a double jab.
Hogan with a lazy takedown attempt and Rush counters with a nice body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Hogan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice defenses there by Hogan. Rush shoots and misses and Hogan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rush thinking. Rush shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hogan is trying to defend but Rush finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hogan is breathing heavily. Hogan wants to control but Rush is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hogan is just riding it out for now. Rush eventually gives up the hold. Hogan actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rush works his foot free and advances to mount. Hogan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rush moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hogan has worked his arm free - good work by Hogan!
Hogan struggling a bit here. Rush fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hogan is looking for a sweep.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Hogan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hogan is trying to get back to full guard. Hogan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rush slips nicely into half guard. Hogan trying to control from the bottom.
Rush trying to pass the guard but Hogan defending well. Hogan moves into full guard.
Rush wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Hogan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rush gets to his feet. Hogan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Hogan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rush misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Rush misses with the combination.
Rush bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Rush shoots in and bounces Hogan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hogan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rush gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hogan looking to control.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Hogan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hogan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rush doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rush manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rush stopping the sweep attempt from Hogan. Rush would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Rush drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hogan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hogan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hogan! Hogan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rush is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Hogan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rush tries to improve position but can't. Rush sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Hogan is pressing down on Rush's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rush is holding on for now. Rush is doing well to control the position and prevent Hogan from advancing to side control. Rush is pressing down on Hogan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that's the end of the fight! Madden Rush comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rush has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
