Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Griggs (ranked 4527 p4p, 6260 weight class) and Tayaen Porfirigo (ranked 558 p4p, 665 weight class). Griggs kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is LL Cool J- Momma Said Knock You Out. Frankie Griggs had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Porfirigo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Porfirigo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griggs defends it nicely.
Nice defenses there by Porfirigo.
And Porfirigo tries to counter it with a takedown but Griggs pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Griggs dodges the punch combination from Porfirigo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griggs throws a body punch but Porfirigo moves out of range.
Porfirigo shoots in for a double leg but Griggs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Griggs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Porfirigo.
Griggs is looking for a counter combo.
Frankie Griggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tayaen Porfirigo.

Griggs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Porfirigo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Griggs counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Griggs cracks Porfirigo with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Griggs has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Porfirigo to stand back up!

It looks like Tayaen Porfirigo has been cut.

Griggs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Griggs throws a head kick but Porfirigo moves out of range.
Porfirigo raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Griggs lands a head kick. Porfirigo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Porfirigo is still on wobbly legs! Can Griggs finish him?

Porfirigo tries to clinch but Griggs moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Griggs on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Porfirigo seems to have recovered his senses.
Griggs pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Griggs scores with a three punch combo!
Griggs drops Porfirigo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Porfirigo! Griggs dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
