Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Blake Phoenix (ranked 462 p4p, 671 weight class) and Pat Kelly (ranked 70 p4p, 102 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blake Phoenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pat Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix throws a body punch but Kelly moves out of range.
Phoenix throws the left hand but Kelly avoids the punch easily.
Phoenix loads up on a big right hand but Kelly slips the punch.
Kelly lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kelly blocks a jab.
Kelly throws an off balance right hand
and Phoenix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kelly has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Phoenix looks to throw the jab but Kelly is out of range.
Kelly takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Phoenix looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Phoenix throws out a loose jab but Kelly uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Phoenix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Phoenix lands with a nice combination. Kelly backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Pat Kelly has been cut.

and Phoenix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Phoenix throws out a loose jab but Kelly uses good head movement to avoid it.

Phoenix was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

It seemed like Kelly was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Blake Phoenix will probably get the nod.

Phoenix is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kelly gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Kelly is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Phoenix not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Phoenix sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kelly's guard.
Well, if Phoenix is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Blake Phoenix.
I think Phoenix has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
