Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Kirk (ranked 691 p4p, 931 weight class) and Jim Beam (ranked 106 p4p, 139 weight class). Jim Beam told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirk takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Beam tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Beam uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kirk.
Beam throws a sloppy head kick and Kirk moves out of range easily.
Kirk jabs Beam to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Beam lands with a straight right. Kirk didn't see that one coming.
Beam shoots in but Kirk avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Beam throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kirk.
Kirk swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Kirk stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kirk wants it to stay on the feet.
A low kick lands for Kirk.
Kirk ducks under a wild hook from Beam.
Beam gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Jim Beam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beam is rocked!
Beam gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Kirk gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Beam is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
