Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andre Mahesa (ranked 1181 p4p, 1654 weight class) and Denis Denisov (ranked 65 p4p, 96 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mahesa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to You're Going Down . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andre Mahesa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Denis Denisov!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Denisov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Mahesa tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Denisov's elbow.

Denisov jumps guard but Mahesa turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Mahesa wants to get up but he can't break Denisov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mahesa cracks a nice hook into Denisov's ribs.
Mahesa leaves Denisov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Denisov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mahesa walks away with a smile on his face. Denisov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mahesa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Denisov is proving hard to escape from.
Denisov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mahesa is trying to stand up here but Denisov is controlling him well.
Denisov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mahesa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Denisov taking a breather but there's no such thing in a fight! Mahesa has locked on to a kimura from the bottom - he uses it to sweep and is now looking to finish from the top position! He's got it! Denisov has tapped! Great work by Mahesa! Lay and pray doesn't pay, kids! Just remember, you heard it here first.

After winning the bout, Andre Mahesa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
