Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rickson Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Blood!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blood takes the fight into the clinch.
Blood trying to stall but Silva improves his position.
Blood with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Blood tries for a takedown but Silva manages to get underhooks.
Blood connects with a nasty looking knee right to Silva's face.
Silva letting Blood take a breather here.
Blood tries to land knees in the clinch but Silva avoids the damage to the body.

Silva jumps guard.
Blood trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blood pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.
Silva being controlled here, momentarily.

Blood drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Blood off! Blood jumps back into Silva's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva is trying to keep Blood in close.
Silva is really struggling to control Blood but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Blood passes Silva's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Blood is controlling the pace.
Blood frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.
Silva tries to lock up and control but Blood gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Silva manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Silva actively working from the bottom here.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blood is working away from the top position though.

Blood is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Blood keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Blood seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blood tries to pass the half guard into mount. Silva knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Blood is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
Well, if Blood is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Blood pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva.

Silva has his foot on Blood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blood works his way back into a safe position though.
Blood trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blood defends it easily.
Blood is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
Blood is pushing down on Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but Blood has managed to sneak the leg through.
Blood frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blood looking to control and managing it successfully.
Blood thowing shots but they're missing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Blood dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Blood is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Blood slips a straight right by Silva.
Blood tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

Blood drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.
Silva lands a right hand that snaps the head of Blood backwards.
Blood tries to land knees in the clinch but Silva avoids the damage to the body.
Blood throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Silva blocks it with crossed arms.

Silva jumps guard and drags Blood to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Silva working for a triangle but Blood defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blood controls from within his opponent's guard.

Silva has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Blood doesn't defend quickly enough and Silva has managed to lock this one up! Can Blood escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Silva on a fantastic submission victory.
