Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Cortez (ranked 2510 p4p, 2387 weight class) and Benicio Trinaldo (ranked 362 p4p, 345 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Cortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benicio Trinaldo!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Cortez jabs Trinaldo to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cortez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Trinaldo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Trinaldo avoids the body shot from Cortez.
Cortez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Trinaldo at a distance.
Good standup being displayed there by Cortez as he connects with a hook.
Trinaldo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Cortez lands a left and a right that send Trinaldo crashing to the mat, dazed. Cortez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cortez connects with a body shot that sends Trinaldo's belly button to the back.
Cortez drops Trinaldo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Trinaldo looks back up at him and smiles so Cortez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Trinaldo is rocked!
Cortez circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Trinaldo to the canvas! Trinaldo doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Cortez keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Cortez!
After the fight, Don Cortez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
