The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Velasquez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Clem darts in and clinches Velasquez up against the cage. Clem comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut. Velasquez is trying to drag Clem to the mat but Clem just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Velasquez misses with a knee strike.
Clem manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Clem seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clem bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Velasquez's guard.
