Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Diaz (ranked 143 p4p, 754 weight class) and Quebra Cranio (ranked 19 p4p, 119 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cranio's choice of entrance music: It's My Life. Quebra Cranio is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Diaz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Quebra Cranio!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a big shot that misses.
Diaz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Diaz attempts a counter takedown but Cranio avoids it well and moves away.
Cranio bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Diaz's head.
Cranio keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Diaz.
It seemed like Cranio was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Cranio ducks under a wild hook from Diaz.
Diaz with a nice cross.
Frank Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Diaz jumps guard but Cranio stands there with Diaz around his waist. Diaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Diaz has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Rubber Guard Emporium in the buildup to the fight.

Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cranio's waist but Cranio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.
Cranio looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Cranio's jab looks to have found its range, popping Diaz under the eye.

Diaz shoots in and bounces Cranio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cranio is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Cranio gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Diaz.
Cranio lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Diaz backwards.

Diaz tries to score a body lock takedown but Cranio shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Diaz has Cranio pressed against the cage, preventing Cranio from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Diaz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Cranio lands with a light punch inside.

Diaz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cranio regains guard immediately.
Diaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cranio wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.

Diaz wants to pass the guard but Cranio is keeping the position.
Cranio can't keep his opponent in guard - Diaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cranio is not content to let Diaz control the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Diaz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Diaz is working for an americana but Cranio has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Diaz was thinking about the submission.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Cranio keeps moving.
Diaz throws a big right hand that misses.

Diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cranio is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cranio has escaped and now he's on top!

Diaz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cranio is one step ahead there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Quebra Cranio dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Diaz fails to land the takedown.
Diaz shoots in but Cranio avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Diaz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cranio.
Cranio misses with a hook. Diaz ducked under it nicely.

Diaz looks up at the clock. Bad move! Cranio lands a right hand from hell, dropping Diaz. Cranio pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quebra Cranio!
Quebra Cranio is the new middleweight champion!
Quebra Cranio was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Frank Diaz was interviewed post fight and said 'I came to hump. This man came to fight. Tonight was not a night for lovers. '.
