PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bronson has chosen Devil On My Shoulder as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Bronson!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Jones.

It looks like Brad Jones has been cut.
Bronson misses with the combination.

Jones pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bronson is out of range and Jones settles back down.
Bronson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Bronson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bronson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bronson takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Bronson.
Bronson misses the shot to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bronson. That's going to slow Jones down.
Bronson throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bronson swivels and escapes.
Bronson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jones's head.

Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bronson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Bronson tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bronson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bronson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
