Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Rodriguez (ranked 1436 p4p, 1360 weight class) and Aonghus Mormaer (ranked 192 p4p, 181 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Rodriguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Aonghus Mormaer! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Mormaer throws a hook but Rodriguez blocks it. Rodriguez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rodriguez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mormaer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rodriguez. Mormaer instigates a clinch. Mormaer lands with a short head shot on the inside. Rodriguez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mormaer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mormaer preventing the sweep. Mormaer passes Rodriguez's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mormaer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Rodriguez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Mormaer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Rodriguez takes a swing at Mormaer's ribcage but misses. Mormaer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rodriguez. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mormaer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mormaer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mormaer slows down the pace here.

Rodriguez is trying to drag Mormaer to the mat but Mormaer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mormaer leaning against his opponent.

letting Mormaer counter with a right hand. Rodriguez cracks Mormaer with a good jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mormaer slips a jab and a cross from Rodriguez.

and Mormaer counters with a huge right that knocks Rodriguez out cold! Mormaer is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Aonghus Mormaer! A relieved looking Aonghus Mormaer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
