Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Bradbury (ranked 2419 p4p, 2390 weight class) and Stevo Caruga (ranked 314 p4p, 312 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ray Bradbury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stevo Caruga!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradbury scores with a jab to the body.
Bradbury lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Caruga on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Caruga needs to keep his hands up - Bradbury had a free shot at his head there.
Bradbury sizes up Caruga with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bradbury throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Caruga drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bradbury defends it well.
Bradbury keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bradbury thows a left - swing and a miss!
Caruga shoots in but Bradbury avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Caruga throws a big shot that misses.

Caruga ducks under a wild hook from Bradbury.
Bradbury darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Bradbury connects with a nice looking jab.
Bradbury lands a nice hook to Caruga's body. Caruga takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bradbury throws a combination. Caruga tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Caruga misses with a body shot
and Caruga takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Caruga avoids a punch combination nicely.
Caruga is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Bradbury lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Caruga throws a body punch but Bradbury moves out of range.
Bradbury swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Bradbury has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Monkey Magic in the buildup to the fight.
Ray Bradbury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stevo Caruga.

and Bradbury counters with a nice uppercut.
Bradbury pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bradbury uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Caruga.
A little feinted left hand from Bradbury on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bradbury is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
No luck for Caruga with that takedown attempt.
Bradbury looks to land a right hand but Caruga moved out of range.

Caruga throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bradbury's waist but Bradbury gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Caruga off to one side.
Caruga has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bradbury lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Caruga misses the shot to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Caruga.
Caruga keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bradbury.
Caruga with the counter takedown but Bradbury avoids it easily.
Bradbury is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Bradbury loads up on a big right hand but Caruga slips the punch.
Caruga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bradbury appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

and Bradbury counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bradbury breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Caruga doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bradbury counters with a nice uppercut.
Stevo Caruga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bradbury goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Ray Bradbury is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bradbury jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Caruga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bradbury's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Caruga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bradbury swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Bradbury dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bradbury tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caruga was well out of range. Poor timing from Bradbury.
Bradbury moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Caruga closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bradbury did well to prevent Caruga getting side control.
Bradbury is looking for a sweep. Caruga is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bradbury wants to get back to his feet.

Caruga in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bradbury tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Caruga!
