PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jaz Moore (ranked 24792 p4p, 6311 weight class) and Max Zeraq (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zeraq darts in and clinches Moore up against the cage.
Moore looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Zeraq manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Zeraq breaks from the clinch.
Moore blocks a head kick by Zeraq .
Moore tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Zeraq manages to circle out of the way.
Zeraq shoots in but no luck this time.
Zeraq scores with a jab.
Zeraq tries to close the distance and clinch but Moore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

As Zeraq looks to move away, Moore throws a big counter combo but Zeraq just gets out of the way.

Zeraq shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Moore's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moore working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zeraq doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zeraq manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

With the fighters up against the cage, Moore throws an elbow but misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Zeraq takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Zeraq shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Moore pinned against the cage. Moore gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Zeraq lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Moore is trying to maintain the position but Zeraq is very close to passing his half guard.

Zeraq lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Zeraq shoots in for a double leg but Moore sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Zeraq shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Moore eats them both and turns towards Zeraq to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Moore moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Zeraq darts in looking for a takedown but Moore gets double underhooks and turns Zeraq into the cage.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Moore.

Max Zeraq showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Zeraq misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A nice inside leg kick there by Zeraq . That's going to slow Moore down.
Moore walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Zeraq feints and as Moore raises his hands in defense, Zeraq changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Moore is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Zeraq frees his head nicely. Oh but Moore has switched to an armbar! Zeraq is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
