Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jamari Lexington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Leroy! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lexington moves out of range as Leroy throws a body kick.
Leroy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lexington moves in looking to clinch but Leroy pushes him off. Lexington tries for a takedown but Leroy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Leroy pushes Lexington up against the cage in a clinch. Lexington keeps control of Leroy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Leroy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lexington.
Lexington wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamari Lexington. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lexington is trying to drag Leroy to the mat but Leroy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Lexington effectively controlling the action here. Leroy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lexington blocks it with crossed arms.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lexington's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Leroy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lexington but Lexington pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lexington gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Leroy counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Lexington is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Leroy pulls him back up using the underhooks. Lexington manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Lexington controls Leroy momentarily but Leroy frees himself. Lexington keeping moving, preventing Leroy from controlling successfully. Lexington is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Leroy has his hands clasped together but Lexington extends and breaks Leroy's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lexington.
