Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bledge Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Winston Howard and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevenson, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Smith wants to take the fight to the mat but Stevenson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Stevenson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Smith works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Smith wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving.

That was a close round but I would say that Bledge Stevenson will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stevenson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Smith is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stevenson is aware though and is defending well.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevenson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stevenson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Smith.

Stevenson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Stevenson ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Smith jumps guard and drags Stevenson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Smith pulls Stevenson in close to prevent any damage.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bledge Stevenson.
Well Stevenson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
