Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hung gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rutherford counters with a big head kick but Hung shrugs it off.
Rutherford lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Rutherford moves into range and connects with a jab.

Hung closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hung lands in his opponent's guard.

Hung drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hung jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rutherford is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Hung gets to his feet - Rutherford follows without any prompting.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hung is defended easily by Rutherford.
Rutherford replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Hung blocks it well.
A slapping body kick lands there for Rutherford.

Hung shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rutherford as he jumps to the side.
Rutherford looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Hung looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Hung shoots in looking for a takedown but Rutherford manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hung's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hung closes the distance and clinches up with Rutherford, looking for a takedown. Hung pushes Rutherford against the cage but Rutherford circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rutherford raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Will Hung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rutherford leaves Hung with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown attempt by Hung or perhaps it was just good defense by Rutherford, which made it look bad.
Rutherford cracks Hung with a hook to the temple - Hung is on wobbly legs here! Rutherford swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Hung falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Rutherford wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ernest Rutherford!
A relieved looking Ernest Rutherford thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Will Hung stepped up to the mic, saying 'Don't talk to me. Don't tell me yahw nehayym.'.
