Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Morton Masters (ranked 2988 p4p, 5405 weight class) and Jim Melamed (ranked 418 p4p, 625 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Morton Masters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jim Melamed! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masters gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Melamed dodges an elbow strike from Masters.
Masters throws an elbow but it misses.
Melamed jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Masters walks away with a smile on his face. Melamed gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Masters forces Melamed back against the cage and clinches. Masters has Melamed pressed against the cage, preventing Melamed from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Masters using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Melamed has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Our sources have told us that Masters has been working on his elbows in the gym. Melamed blocks the elbow strike.

It looks like Jim Melamed has been cut. Masters slowing the pace effectively. Melamed is looking to break free of the clinch but Masters has double underhooks. Masters looks to throw an elbow but misses. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Masters just misses with a elbow thrown towards Melamed's brow. Masters misses with an elbow over the top. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masters looking to throw knees to the head but Melamed is blocking nicely.

Melamed is trying to push Masters away but Masters has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Melamed tries for a takedown but Masters manages to get underhooks.
Masters scores with a nice hook to the head. Masters lands a damaging elbow. Melamed swings away with an uppercut that misses.
