The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swinging wildly here.
Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nye circles away quickly and effectively.
Smith is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nye.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith's coach down at Monkey Magic was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smith's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smith scores with a decent looking hook.

It looks like Bill Nye has been cut.

Nye definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Oliver Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nye avoids it.

Nye tries to land a knee to the head but Smith blocks with his arms.

Nye breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Smith drops Nye with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nye looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
and Smith counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Nye! He's just covering up as Smith starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
