Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Owen McShane (ranked 3844 p4p, 1463 weight class) and Aiko San (ranked 439 p4p, 193 weight class). Aiko San has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Owen McShane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Aiko San!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
San fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McShane is looking to clinch.
McShane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but San manages to avoid it.
McShane fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. San looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McShane walks into a straight right hand from San.
McShane throws a body shot but no joy.
San comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McShane throws a predictable looking body shot
and San counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
San moves into range and connects with a jab.
San clobbers McShane with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
San lands with an overhand left.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
San stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
San swings and misses with a hook to the body.
San fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
San connects with a looping right hand.

McShane closes the distance and pushes San back into the cage.
San has a couple of punches blocked by McShane.

McShane misses with an elbow over the top.
Still in the clinch, San scores with a nice short uppercut.
A body shot lands from San.
San lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McShane backwards.
A head punch on the inside from San fails to land.
McShane fails to pull guard.
San misses with a hook to the ribs.
San scores with a nice hook to the head.
McShane changes levels and goes for a takedown here. San fights it off and pushes away nicely.
San throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
San cracks McShane with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
McShane missing with a left hand there. San was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The crowd cheers as San lands an impressive looking overhand right. McShane doesn't seem phased though.
San connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McShane momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

San shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Aiko San is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

enabling San to counter with a crisp jab.
San lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McShane at a distance.
San scores with a nice head shot.
San works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

McShane takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
San lands with an overhand left.
San lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

McShane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. San did well to prevent McShane getting side control.
San is not content to let McShane control the position.

McShane is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

McShane is looking for a kimura but San is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McShane to get the leverage.
San felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
McShane stops San from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McShane tries to pass the half guard into mount. San knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
McShane has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

McShane is landing with some decent strikes but San is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
San in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! McShane connects with a massive shot to the dome!
San squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
McShane throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
McShane scores with a couple of good head shots there.
McShane sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

McShane has control of San's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and San regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McShane looking to control but San is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aiko San dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McShane takes the fight into the clinch.
McShane creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
San lands a body shot.
San has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

San dodges an elbow strike from McShane.
San lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
San misses with a hook from the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, McShane throws an elbow but misses.
San lands a left hand that snaps the head of McShane backwards.
San goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
McShane blocking some punches.
Aiko San seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
San lands with a right to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McShane is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but San is defending well.

McShane looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

McShane drops down looking for an ankle pick but San pulls his leg out and moves away.

Nice uppercut lands for San. That snapped McShane's head back.
McShane takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
San throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McShane on the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

San ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, McShane just misses with a elbow thrown towards San's brow.

San unloads with a big right hand that wobbles McShane! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but San is unloading with more strikes now! McShane drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
