Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lionel The Messiah (ranked 4637 p4p, 4747 weight class) and Rob Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lionel The Messiah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Messiah gets the takedown into side control.
Tyson wants to get back to his feet but The Messiah drags him back down.

The Messiah looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The Messiah is looking to take a break and control but Tyson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tyson struggling a bit here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Messiah tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The Messiah trying to control the action but Tyson is working from the bottom.

Tyson is looking for a sweep.
Tyson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but The Messiah has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tyson is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The Messiah drives through with a takedown into Tyson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Tyson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The Messiah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tyson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tyson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Tyson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The Messiah is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tyson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. The Messiah swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The Messiah wants to stand up but Tyson is controlling him.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The Messiah trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The Messiah shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tyson sprawls well. Tyson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. The Messiah gets slowly back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The Messiah fails with the takedown
and Tyson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rob Tyson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Tyson shoots for a double leg takedown but The Messiah sprawls well. He's pushed Tyson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The Messiah shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tyson pinned against the cage. Tyson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The Messiah fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lionel The Messiah. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The Messiah shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tyson counters with a nice uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tyson is defended easily by The Messiah.
The Messiah shoots in and drives through. Tyson sprawls well.

Tyson moves into the clinch successfully.
Tyson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Tyson forces The Messiah back against the cage and clinches.
Tyson jumps guard but The Messiah stands there with Tyson around his waist. Tyson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The Messiah trying to control but Tyson is working from the bottom.
The Messiah is really struggling to control Tyson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tyson has momentary wrist control but The Messiah slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tyson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The Messiah trying to control the position from guard on top but Tyson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tyson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Tyson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tyson wants to get back to his feet but The Messiah is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Tyson is trying hard to land a takedown here. The Messiah sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tyson misses with a shot to the body
and The Messiah counters with a left and a right that stings Tyson.

Tyson gets caught napping as The Messiah dives in and scores a takedown. Tyson manages to retain guard.
Tyson keeping moving, preventing The Messiah from controlling successfully.
The Messiah working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tyson's head.

Tyson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Messiah defends it easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tyson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tyson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The Messiah in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Tyson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lionel The Messiah will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Tyson moves into range and clinches up with The Messiah.
Tyson can't get the takedown.
The Messiah goes for a takedown attempt but Tyson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The Messiah tries to clinch there but Tyson circles away.
Tyson misses with a wild combination.
The Messiah fails with a takedown attempt.

The Messiah forces Tyson back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Messiah manages to break the clinch.

and Tyson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Tyson got a little sloppy there for a moment and The Messiah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tyson has managed to get both his arms back between The Messiah's legs - danger averted.

Tyson wants to pass the guard but The Messiah is keeping the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tyson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Tyson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed The Messiah's guard.
Tyson is taking a breather. The Messiah says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tyson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks The Messiah with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The Messiah tries to roll over but Tyson keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tyson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tyson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The Messiah wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tyson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Tyson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Tyson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A punch lands to the side of The Messiah 's head but he takes it in his stride.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The Messiah shoots in looking for a takedown. Tyson tries to sprawl out of it but The Messiah keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tyson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lionel The Messiah. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Danga de danga de dang - Tyson scores with a four punch combination!
Rob Tyson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The Messiah throws a series of punches but Tyson avoids them all with ease.
Tyson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Tyson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
It looked like The Messiah wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Tyson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lionel The Messiah has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rob Tyson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Tyson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The Messiah tries to kick Tyson off in order to stand up. Tyson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lionel The Messiah showed his dominance in that final round.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
