Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lio Rush (ranked 25409 p4p, 6086 weight class) and Hallzy Dogg (ranked 347 p4p, 311 weight class). Rush comes into the arena with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air blaring out of the sound system. Hallzy Dogg will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lio Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hallzy Dogg! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dogg bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dogg is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rush knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. A lull in the action here as Dogg stalls from top position. Rush is trying to control Dogg's posture but Dogg avoids it. Dogg cracks Rush with a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dogg working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rush tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Dogg easily slips into full mount! Rush is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dogg landing strikes, looking to finish! Dogg working for a submission but Rush is keeping him at bay. Dogg with good strikes from the mount here! Dogg is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rush to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rush shrugs it off. Rush really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Dogg is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dogg throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Well, if Dogg is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Rush could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dogg drops an elbow to the side of Rush's head. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dogg in particular looking to stall. Rush works his way to full guard. Good work. Rush trying to keep a closed guard but Dogg is proving a slippery customer.
Rush has his foot on Dogg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dogg works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dogg drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rush looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rush looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rush! Dogg wants to control but Rush postures up. Rush scores with a couple of short elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dogg wants to control but Rush postures up. Dogg manages to get back to half guard. Dogg is controlling Rush's position as best he can from this difficult position. Rush is taking a breather. Dogg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dogg tries to get to full guard but Rush has control of the leg. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hallzy Dogg dominated that round. That's time! Rush's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Rush looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Rush changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dogg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dogg sneaks out the side door and pushes Rush away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Dogg moves into range and clinches up with Rush. Rush breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A momentary lapse in concentration from Rush enables Dogg to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rush manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dogg passes Rush's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Rush is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dogg scores with a couple of nice shots. Dogg is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dogg wants to control from the top but Rush keeps moving. Dogg stands and throws Rush's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dogg thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rush regains half guard. Rush has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dogg is working away from the top position though. Dogg is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush is trying to get back to full guard. Rush wants to control but Dogg is keeping busy.
Rush is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dogg pulls his head out easily. Dogg looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dogg lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dogg passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rush! Dogg connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Dogg avoids the attempt from Rush to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dogg tries to control but Rush wriggling away. Dogg postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rush looks a forlorn figure.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hallzy Dogg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Dogg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rush, pushing him back against the cage. Dogg wants a takedown.
Rush breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rush is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Rush throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Nice sprawl there from Rush as Dogg shoots in. Rush is looking to counter the offense by Dogg and move into the clinch. Rush drives through with a takedown into Dogg's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Dogg throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rush thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dogg is looking to control Rush's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dogg avoid being mounted? Rush is nestled in close to Dogg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dogg is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rush's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rush's back! Rush tries to roll but Dogg sticks to his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Rush's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Dogg is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
