PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adam Bogo (ranked 1957 p4p, 3238 weight class) and Norman Pike (ranked 115 p4p, 198 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Bogo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Norman Pike!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pike takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Pike throws a shot to the body.
Bogo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Bogo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pike won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pike really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bogo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pike has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bogo is working away from the top position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pike can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pike has had enough of the clinch but Bogo keeps him there for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bogo goes for a takedown attempt but Pike pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bogo is defended easily by Pike.
Pike fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bogo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

And that's the end of the fight!
Norman Pike comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bogo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
