Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Gomes (ranked 1631 p4p, 3547 weight class) and Ezekiel Neviim (ranked 213 p4p, 446 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neviim swats away the attempt to clinch by Gomes.
Gomes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gomes connects with a crisp jab.

Neviim closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gomes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Neviim is working away from the top position though.
Neviim lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gomes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neviim is working for a submission of some sort.
Neviim thows a huge punch but Gomes dodges it nicely.

Gomes is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Neviim scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gomes wants to improve his position but Neviim is controlling well.
Gomes has hold of Neviim's hands but Neviim slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Well, if Neviim is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Gomes's coaches at Besta-Fera Training Center have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Neviim throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gomes to regain full guard.
Gomes lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Neviim has control of Gomes's left arm, preventing Gomes from doing any damage.

Neviim is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gomes is aware though and is defending well.
Neviim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gomes is working Neviim over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Neviim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gomes's guard.

Gomes has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Neviim doesn't defend quickly enough and Gomes has managed to lock this one up! Can Neviim escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gomes on a fantastic submission victory.
