Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joad Cressbeckler (ranked 49 p4p, 178 weight class) and Vasil Petrov (ranked 6 p4p, 28 weight class). Cressbeckler comes to the cage accompanied by American Remains. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Vasil Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cressbeckler throws a wild body kick that Petrov sees coming a mile off.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cressbeckler cracks Petrov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Cressbeckler swings for the body but Petrov moves out of range.
Petrov throws a fast counter high kick but Cressbeckler manages to duck under it in time.
Cressbeckler will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Petrov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cressbeckler.

Joad Cressbeckler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Some bone on bone action there as Petrov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Petrov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

That has opened up Vasil Petrov's cut even more.
Petrov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cressbeckler.
Petrov lands a really nice looking cross but Cressbeckler seems unphased.
Petrov moves out of range of the body kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Petrov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cressbeckler.
Petrov throws a big counter head kick but Cressbeckler avoids it with no problem.

and Cressbeckler counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Petrov might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Cressbeckler has got the better of the exchanges.

Petrov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cressbeckler manages to avoid it.
Cressbeckler is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Petrov can do to turn this around?

The cut above Vasil Petrov's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Petrov has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Petrov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vasil Petrov's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Cressbeckler lands a big uppercut and Petrov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Petrov looks OK. Cressbeckler waves Petrov back to his feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Vasil Petrov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Joad Cressbeckler!

Joad Cressbeckler decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
