Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Avon Barksdale (ranked 4283 p4p, 3066 weight class) and Slick Sanchez (ranked 259 p4p, 192 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Avon Barksdale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slick Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barksdale changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sanchez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Barksdale working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Check out the look on Barksdale's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barksdale has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Barksdale's legs - danger averted. Sanchez wanted to stand there but Barksdale had control of the position. Sanchez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barksdale's guard. Barksdale has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Barksdale working for a triangle but Sanchez defends it easily.

Slick Sanchez dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. A combination from Sanchez does no damage. Sanchez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barksdale circles away quickly and effectively. Slick Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barksdale throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sanchez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Barksdale stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barksdale is controlling him.
