Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tacitus Kilgore (ranked 466 p4p, 116 weight class) and Kollaa River (ranked 66 p4p, 17 weight class). River is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tacitus Kilgore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kollaa River! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kilgore swings away with a leg kick that misses. The fighters circling - Kilgore throws out the jab but it was never going to land. River checks a leg kick. River ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kilgore fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've been informed that River has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Kilgore on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by River. River obviously looking to wear him down.

Kilgore looks to throw the jab but River is out of range. Kilgore tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Kilgore swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The crowd cheers as Kilgore lands an impressive looking overhand right. River doesn't seem phased though. Kilgore connects with a crisp jab. Kilgore gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows River to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! River is fighting to break Kilgore's control of his arms but Kilgore is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Kilgore looking to hit a scissor sweep but River is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kilgore controls River momentarily but River frees himself. Kilgore has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kilgore preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. River throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kilgore keeping moving, preventing River from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kilgore fakes high and swings low for a body shot but River manages to avoid it. Kilgore thows a left - swing and a miss! Kilgore jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
River throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kilgore was covering up waiting for the punch and River finishes the takedown easily into guard. River trying to control the position from guard on top but Kilgore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. River missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kilgore looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. River is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. River is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kilgore has River pulled in close to control his posture. River lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. River is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. River has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kilgore has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but River has passed into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kilgore is looking for a sweep. River lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Kilgore is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kilgore wants to improve his position but River is controlling well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. River lands a nice short elbow. River missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kilgore tries to roll over but River keeps him under control. Kilgore works his way to full guard. Good work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kollaa River dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Kilgore misses with a leg kick and River counters with a straight right hand. River uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kilgore.
River tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. River looks to score with a jab to the body but Kilgore is just out of range. River connects with a nice looking jab.
Kilgore tries to clinch up but River circles away and keeps his distance. Kilgore is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kilgore displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as River throws out the jab. River moves out of range as Kilgore strikes. River takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kilgore cracks River with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. River clinches up against the cage. Kilgore tries to throw a body punch but River avoids it by throwing Kilgore back against the cage. River swings wildly with an uppercut but Kilgore uses good head movement to avoid it. River jumps guard but Kilgore turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. River doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
River lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Kilgore working some nice short punches in the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! River is trying to pull guard but Kilgore has him pressed against the cage. Kilgore presses River against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. River working aggressively here.

Kilgore lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. River is breathing heavily. River lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. River blocks a body shot from Kilgore. and River counters with a stiff right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. River lands a really nice looking cross but Kilgore seems unphased.

The fighters circling - Kilgore throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kilgore ducks down and throws a hook to the body but River moves away. Tacitus Kilgore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. River walks into a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. River fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kilgore looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. River sizes up Kilgore with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. River tries to close the distance and clinch but Kilgore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. River takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kilgore slips under a jab from River. Kilgore gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows River to score an easy takedown into full guard. River scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kilgore looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kilgore wants to improve his position but instead River has moved into half guard.
River thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kilgore's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kilgore regains full guard. Nicely done. River is working Kilgore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Kilgore keeping moving, preventing River from controlling successfully. River engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. River lands a couple of digs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. River trying to control the position from guard on top but Kilgore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tacitus Kilgore dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! River scores with a leg kick.

River dives in for a single leg takedown but Kilgore sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Kilgore connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kilgore has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from River. River throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kilgore lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of River backwards. River is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kilgore gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. River misses with a punch on the inside.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kilgore breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

River takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

River swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kilgore lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. River swats away the attempt to clinch by Kilgore. River is looking for the big counter here. Kilgore connects with a solid leg kick. River's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Kilgore misses with a low kick.
Kilgore throws an uppercut from half a mile away. River sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kilgore throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. River tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. River misses with an uppercut. Kilgore saw that one coming. River looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kilgore! Kilgore manages to work his way to half guard, despite River's best efforts. River content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Kilgore trying to control but River postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. River working over Kilgore with some ground and pound. Kilgore looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Kilgore is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kilgore is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute River jumps into side control! Kilgore tries to improve position but can't. River sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kilgore is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
