Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwayne Haskins (ranked 54 p4p, 189 weight class) and Ruslan Karelin (ranked 11 p4p, 28 weight class). Ruslan Karelin is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 6 - 2, fighting out of New York, Dwayne Haskins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ruslan Karelin! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karelin moves in looking to clinch but Haskins pushes him off. Haskins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karelin. Karelin connects with a nice looking jab.
Karelin lands a glancing blow to the side of Haskins's head. Karelin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Karelin trying to control the position but Haskins is working away. Haskins wants to get back to his feet. Haskins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Karelin tries to advance to mount but Haskins denies him. Karelin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Haskins, who protects the arm well. Haskins tries to escape but Karelin is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karelin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Karelin tries for a kimura but Haskins is defending well. Haskins is pushing Karelin's head away, looking to escape. Karelin manages to hold on to the position though. Haskins bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Haskins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Karelin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Haskins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Karelin lands with an overhand left. Karelin darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Haskins takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

It looks like Ruslan Karelin has been cut. Haskins throws out a loose jab but Karelin uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haskins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Haskins lands a big head kick that sends Karelin tumbling to the mat! Haskins takes a step backwards and waves Karelin back to his feet - he wants the finish! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Karelin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Haskins tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Karelin is in Haskins's guard. Karelin prevents Haskins from getting back to his feet. Karelin wants to pass the guard but Haskins is keeping the position. Karelin trying to control the position from guard on top but Haskins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Haskins wants to get back to his feet but Karelin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Karelin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haskins swivels though and keeps the full guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Karelin wants to control from the top but Haskins keeps moving. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Haskins wants to stand but Karelin is controlling the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Karelin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Karelin shoots in but no luck this time. Karelin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Haskins. Karelin does a little dance to reset his feet. Karelin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Haskins. Karelin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Haskins to the ground. Karelin is now in Haskins's guard. Karelin prevents Haskins from getting back to his feet. Karelin trying to control the position from guard on top but Haskins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karelin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haskins swivels though and keeps the full guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karelin tests Haskins's chin there with a solid looking shot. Karelin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The fighters circle momentarily. Karelin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Karelin tries to clinch up and Haskins counters with a stiff right hand.
That has opened up Ruslan Karelin's cut even more. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Haskins swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Karelin with a lazy takedown attempt and Haskins counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Haskins misses with a hook. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dwayne Haskins will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ruslan Karelin's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Haskins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Karelin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Haskins lands a glancing blow to the side of Karelin's head. Haskins needs to keep his hands up - Karelin had a free shot at his head there. Karelin moves forwards but Haskins connects with a nice, crisp jab. Karelin slips under a jab. Haskins defending well as Karelin loads up on a big left hand. Karelin moves in looking to clinch but Haskins pushes him off. Haskins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
No joy there for Haskins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Karelin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Haskinss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Haskins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karelin. Karelin goes for a double leg but Haskins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Haskins continues to drive forward. Haskins was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karelin ducks right into an uppercut from Haskins. Haskins with a jab.
The cut above Ruslan Karelin's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Haskins misses with a hook. Karelin ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haskins blocks a jab. Haskins is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. A big right from Karelin misses. Karelin looks to throw the jab but Haskins is out of range. Karelin misses with a looping left. It looked like Haskins was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Karelin. Karelin throws an off balance right hand
and Haskins counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Haskins throws a lazy uppercut
and Karelin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Haskins misses with a right hand and Karelin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Karelin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Haskins looks to land a left hand but Karelin moved out of range nicely. Karelin wants to counter with a clinch but Haskins pushes him away. Karelin throws a shot from downtown. Haskins moves away and avoids it. An attempted straight right counter from Haskins misses the target. Haskins throws a big shot that misses. Karelin is looking to land body kicks. Haskins throws a poor cross that misses
and Karelin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Haskins moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Haskins misses with a right hand enabling Karelin to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karelin moves into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Karelin. Karelin jumps guard and drags Haskins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Karelin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Haskins is aware though and is defending well. Karelin striking off his back but it's not causing Haskins any problems. Haskins wants to stand and escape but instead Karelin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Haskins keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully. Ruslan Karelin has got the better of the ground game so far. Karelin stops Haskins from standing up. Karelin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haskins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Haskins wants to stand and escape but Karelin is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karelin pushes down on Haskins's leg and manages to get into half guard. Karelin is working for a kimura but Haskins is defending it quite comfortably.
Haskins is looking to escape. Karelin stalling. Haskins pushes Karelin off and gets back to his feet. Karelin misses with a kick to the body.
Karelin tries to clinch up but Haskins circles away and keeps his distance. Karelin forces Haskins back against the cage and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haskins has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Karelin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Karelin throws a punch but it's blocked by Haskins. Haskins manages to break the clinch.
Karelin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice defenses there by Haskins. Karelin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Haskins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ruslan Karelin's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Dwayne Haskins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruslan Karelin. Karelin tries to clinch there but Haskins circles away.
Haskins staying out of range there. Karelin wants to clinch but Haskins slips to the side and Haskins counters with a nice kick to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Haskins slips under a jab. Karelin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A punch combination from Haskins misses. A nice combination there by Haskins.

Haskins tries to avoid it but Karelin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Haskins to the ground. Haskins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Karelin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Haskins slips a straight right by Karelin. Karelin throws a big shot that misses. Karelin is looking to clinch but Haskins is avoiding it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slow jab from Haskins misses its intended target. Haskins throws a lazy head kick and Karelin counters with a stiff right hand. Karelin is looking to clinch. Dwayne Haskins is winning the standup battle so far. Karelin connects with a looping right hand.
Karelin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Haskins as he avoids it easily.

Haskins moves out of range as Karelin strikes. Haskins is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Haskins looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Karelin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Haskins defends it well. Haskins gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Karelin. Karelin staying out of range there. Karelin wants to counter with a clinch but Haskins pushes him away. A jab from Karelin does it's job there. Karelin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ruslan Karelin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
