Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rico Cole (ranked 3205 p4p, 5125 weight class) and Yves Marchant (ranked 368 p4p, 537 weight class). Cole kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gerardo's Rico Suave. Marchant has chosen gandagana as his entrance music. Yves Marchant told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rico Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yves Marchant!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole moves into the clinch.
Marchant works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Cole looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Marchant controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cole keeping moving, preventing Marchant from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marchant stays in close to Cole's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Marchant looking for subs off his back but Cole has passed one foot through into half guard.
Marchant looking for submissions off his back.
Marchant is pressing down on Cole's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Marchant has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cole is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marchant.
Marchant misses with an elbow from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marchant is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cole's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Cole! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Marchant has tapped! This one is allllll over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Rico Cole!
Rico Cole seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Yves Marchant stepped up to the mic, saying 'I will come back stronger.'.
