Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Xing Ling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Bidden!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ling closes the distance but Bidden moves to the side
and Bidden counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Xing Ling has been cut.
Bidden moves out of range of the strikes.
Bidden misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ling throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bidden sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Bidden closes the distance and clinches.
Bidden blocks an uppercut.
Bidden is trying to push Ling away but Ling has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Bidden stalling in the clinch.
Ling misses with a hook from the clinch.
Ling can't find room to land a body shot as Bidden controls the action.
Ling tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bidden blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bidden ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bidden no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Bidden has a closed guard, preventing Ling from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ling stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bidden swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ling has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bidden is proving hard to escape from.
Bidden wants to sweep but no luck.
Ling stays in close to Bidden's body and controls the position.
Ling stops Bidden from standing up.
Ling won't allow Bidden to sweep him here.
Ling's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bidden or perhaps it was just good defense by Ling, which made it look bad.
Ling misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bidden.
Bidden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ling.
Ling sets himself, and Bidden steps forward looking for the clinch! Ling avoids it this time.
Bidden displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ling throws out the jab.
Ling stuffs the takedown attempt from Bidden. Bidden gets slowly back to his feet.

Bidden misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Xing Ling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Bidden.
Ling with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Bidden throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ling's waist but Ling gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bidden off to one side.
Bidden uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ling.
Bidden throws the kick towards the body but Ling avoids it.
Bidden moves forwards but Ling connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Joe Bidden has been cut.
A shot to the body from Ling misses
and Bidden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bidden tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ling is able to avoid easily.
It looked like Ling wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Ling misses with a straight left.
Bidden shoots in and drives through. Ling sprawls well.
Bidden fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bidden blocks a jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ling takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bidden shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ling pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bidden swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Bidden slips under a jab from Ling.
A telegraphed right hand from Ling misses the target.

Bidden moves into the clinch.
Bidden tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ling tries to work over Bidden's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A left hand lands to the body for Bidden.

Bidden manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bidden looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ling is one step ahead there.
Bidden looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Let's hope that Bidden has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ling tries to free his leg and advance position but Bidden is retaining full guard.
Ling trying to control the position from guard on top but Bidden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ling tries to stand but Bidden is controlling from the bottom.
Ling has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bidden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ling doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ling manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ling throws a shot from downtown. Bidden moves away and avoids it.
Ling throws out a loose jab but Bidden uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ling pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Xing Ling dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

and Bidden counters with a crisp one two that drops Ling! Bidden thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Ling to his feet! Ling is in big trouble!

Xing Ling seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bidden shoots in but no luck this time.
Oh Ling is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bidden moves into the clinch successfully.
Bidden can't get the takedown.
Bidden goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ling prevents it.
Xing Ling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Bidden.
Ling tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bidden's elbow.
Bidden pushes Ling against the cage. Bidden is working some dirty boxing. Bidden pushes off with a quick right hook! Ling goes down! Ling tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Bidden moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
