PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stian Lygre (ranked 5572 p4p, 5493 weight class) and Maki Damchaigym (ranked 453 p4p, 449 weight class). Lygre comes to the cage accompanied by ADHD. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stian Lygre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maki Damchaigym! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Damchaigym misses with a head kick.
Damchaigym goes for a double leg but Lygre avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lygre continues to drive forward. Lygre closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Damchaigym quickly recovers to half guard. Lygre lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lygre is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lygre seems to be working for a kimura but Damchaigym defends the submission attempt. Lygre works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lygre controlling from mount. Lygre has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Lygre stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Damchaigym will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Lygre closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Damchaigym quickly recovers to half guard. Damchaigym tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lygre manages to move to mount!
Lygre takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lygre is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Lygre!
