Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Julian McGavin (ranked 2567 p4p, 3094 weight class) and Bradon Moo (ranked 158 p4p, 0 weight class). McGavin comes to the cage accompanied by Jersey Shore intro song. Bradon Moo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Julian McGavin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bradon Moo!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGavin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

McGavin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Moo is looking for a sweep.
McGavin wants to control but Moo is keeping him busy.

McGavin decides to take the fight back to the feet.

McGavin gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Moo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

McGavin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGavin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Moo tries to bench press McGavin off him but McGavin keeps the position.

McGavin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moo has escaped the position, nice work there.

McGavin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Moo shoots and misses
and McGavin counters with a left and a right that stings Moo.

Moo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Moo pushes McGavin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

McGavin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McGavin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Moo has managed to free his arm - good work.
McGavin trying to control the pace.
Moo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McGavin scores with a couple of nice shots.

McGavin is trying to control the action in half guard but Moo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Moo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGavin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Moo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Moo looks winded!

McGavin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

McGavin stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Moo shoots and misses

so McGavin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McGavin works over Moo with some ground and pound from guard.
Moo has momentary wrist control but McGavin slips an elbow through the middle.
McGavin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

McGavin stands up and waves to Moo to follow him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McGavin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Moo on his heels. He'll look to pass Moo's guard now, I'm sure.
McGavin advances to half guard.

McGavin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McGavin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

McGavin seems to be working for a kimura but Moo defends the submission attempt.

McGavin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Moo is just riding it out for now. McGavin eventually gives up the hold.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Moo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

After the fight, Julian McGavin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
