PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vulfgang Takumi (ranked 24097 p4p, 4212 weight class) and Reza Chas (ranked 635 p4p, 465 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vulfgang Takumi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reza Chas!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chas throws a right and a left that Takumi avoids nicely.

Takumi cracks Chas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Reza Chas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've been informed that Chas has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Takumi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Takumi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chas manages to avoid it.

No joy there for Chas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Takumi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Chas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Takumi paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Chas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
It looked like Takumi was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
A nice leg kick from Chas, right into the meat of the thigh.

Takumi scores with a jab to the head.
Chas throws a body kick that misses
and Takumi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Chas finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Takumi's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Chas falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vulfgang Takumi!
