Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stu Redman (ranked 4637 p4p, 3807 weight class) and Shoto Todoroki (ranked 568 p4p, 499 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shoto Todoroki!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Todoroki back to the cage. Redman follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Todoroki moves out of range of the strikes.
Redman throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Todoroki bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Todoroki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Redman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Todoroki tries to advance to mount but Redman denies him.
Todoroki happy to just control the position for now.
Redman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Todoroki on the ground.

Todoroki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Redman, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Todoroki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Redman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Todoroki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Todoroki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Todoroki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Redman, who protects the arm well.
Redman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Redman tries to get out of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Redman wants to control but Todoroki postures up.
Redman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Todoroki is taking a breather. Redman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Todoroki in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Redman tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Todoroki!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shoto Todoroki!
A relieved looking Shoto Todoroki thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
