PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Riley Knox (ranked 21060 p4p, 22927 weight class) and Ruma Juttu (ranked 716 p4p, 693 weight class). Knox comes to the ring accompanied by Roy Jones Jr - I Smoke, I Drink feat. Mr. Magic & Youngbloodz). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Riley Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruma Juttu!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox scores with a sloppy right hand. Juttu should have avoided that one.
A nice leg kick lands there from Juttu.
Juttu tries to work over Knox's front leg with a kick but Knox checks it.
A clash of legs there as Knox blocks the low kick.
Knox tries to clinch there but Juttu circles away.
Juttu fakes the leg kick and cracks Knox in the body.
Knox stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Juttu throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Riley Knox has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knox connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Sloppy strikes from Knox. Those never looked like landing.
Juttu clobbers Knox with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Juttu lands a nice looking kick to the body. Knox takes a step back to recover.
Knox tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Juttu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Juttu scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Knox beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
Ruma Juttu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Juttu throws a push kick but Knox slaps the foot to one side.
Knox was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Knox walks straight into devastating uppercut and drops to the floor, clearly wobbled! Can he beat the count? 4,5,6,7... he's up! And he's down again! The ref steps in and calls an end to the fight! What a punch that was!

During a confident post fight interview, Ruma Juttu thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
