Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Handzo (ranked 4701 p4p, 4832 weight class) and Timothy Mats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hanzo Handzo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timothy Mats! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Handzo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mats holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Handzo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mats just stands there and leans against the cage. Mats manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mats throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mats is controlling Handzo's posture. Mats has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Handzo has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Mats has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Handzo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mats just stands there and leans against the cage. Handzo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mats walks away with a smile on his face. Handzo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hanzo Handzo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mats decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mats controlling the action here. Handzo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mats pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mats thows a huge punch but Handzo dodges it nicely.
Mats is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mats really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Handzo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mats takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Mats moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Handzo. Handzo manages to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mats is taking a breather. Handzo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mats throws a strike but Handzo manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Mats tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hanzo Handzo!
