Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kramer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Patton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Kramer! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kramer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Patton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Patton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kramer is trying desperately to improve position. Patton lands with some strikes. Patton misses with a head shot. Patton thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Kramer is desperately trying to improve his position but Patton has a good base and remains in mount. Patton jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kramer is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kramer and Patton has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kramer sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Patton thows a huge punch but Kramer dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Patton wants to stand up but Kramer has a hold of him and won't allow it. Patton throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kramer wants to get back to his feet. Kramer wants to control but Patton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kramer is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Patton pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Patton tries to close the distance and clinch but Kramer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Patton moves into the clinch successfully.
Patton is pressed up against the cage. Kramer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Patton down to the mat. Patton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kramer shoots and misses and Patton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kramer looks gassed! Patton wants to control but Kramer is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patton decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Patton fails in his attempt to clinch. Kramer connects with a body shot. Kramer with a poor takedown and Patton counters with a nice double leg into guard. Craig Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kramer. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kramer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Patton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kramer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Patton is looking to work some ground and pound but Kramer has wrist control. Kramer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kramer is looking for a triangle but Patton pushes his legs off easily.
Patton trying to control but Kramer is working from the bottom. Patton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Patton prevents Kramer from getting back to his feet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Patton moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Patton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Patton wants to control but Kramer is keeping him busy. Kramer wants to control but Patton postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kramer manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Kramer is stalling here. Patton is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kramer seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Patton has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kramer tries to buck Patton off but Patton is having none of it. Patton in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Patton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Patton is trying to ground and pound but Kramer uses the momentary lack of control by Patton to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Craig Patton dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Patton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kramer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Craig Patton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kramer tries for a takedown but Patton circles away easily and Patton counters with a straight right hand. Patton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kramer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Patton counters with a single leg into guard. Kramer didn't expect that. Kramer is working an open guard so Patton takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Patton wants to clinch. Kramer with a lazy takedown attempt and Patton counters with a takedown into side control. Craig Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kramer. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Patton is trying to get an arm triangle but Kramer is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patton working the ground and pound but Kramer is defending the strikes. Kramer is looking to regain half guard here but Patton keeps moving and retains side control. Patton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Patton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Patton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kramer on the ground. Patton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kramer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Patton but great work by Kramer. Patton tries to control but Kramer manages to take his back. Craig Patton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Patton is trying to get back to his feet but Kramer has full control of the position and if anything, Patton has just worked his way into a worse spot. Kramer is trying to stick to Patton's back but Patton is turning into Kramer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kramer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Patton. Patton wants to control from the top but Kramer keeps moving. Patton throws a big right hand that misses. Patton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kramer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kramer has escaped and now he's on top! Patton wants to improve his position but instead Kramer has moved into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kramer moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Patton. Patton manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kramer's best efforts. Kramer tries to pass to full mount but Patton defends it. Patton wants to get back to full guard. Patton is trying to stand up here but Kramer is controlling him well. Patton is looking to improve his position.
Kramer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Patton is trying to control but can't.
Kramer wants to stand up but Patton is controlling the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Patton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Patton rushes Kramer and presses him up against the cage. Kramer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kramer fails with the takedown and Patton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Patton wanted to stand there but Kramer had control of the position. Patton controls from within his opponent's guard. Kramer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kramer has his foot on Patton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Patton works his way back into a safe position though. Patton stands and throws Kramer's legs to the side, diving into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Patton landing a few strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kramer, who protects the arm well. Kramer is not content to let Patton control the position. Patton scoring with punches from side control. You can see the frustration on Kramer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kramer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Patton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Patton trying to control the position but Kramer is working away.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Patton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kramer tries for a takedown but Patton circles away easily and Patton counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Patton. Patton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kramer, up you get! Patton wants to clinch. Kramer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Patton counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Craig Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kramer.

Still in the clinch, Patton scores with a nice short uppercut. Kramer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Patton just stands there and leans against the cage. Patton tries to pull guard but Kramer won't allow it.
Kramer blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Patton tries a body shot but Kramer blocks it.
Kramer gets underhooks to prevent Patton's takedown attempt.

Craig Patton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Patton sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that's the end of the fight! Craig Patton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Patton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
