Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Michael Bostic (ranked 1794 p4p, 864 weight class) and Henry Colt (ranked 99 p4p, 49 weight class). Bostic comes into the arena with Move blaring out of the sound system. Henry Colt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Michael Bostic's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Bostic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Henry Colt! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colt throws a jab but it's blocked by Bostic. Bostic lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Colt keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bostic. Colt misses with a wild combination.
Colt throws a lazy right hand but Bostic sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bostic appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Bostic takes a swing at Colt's ribcage but misses. Colt misses with a kick to the body.
Colt blocks a jab. A head kick from Colt lands but Bostic takes it in his stride. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No joy there for Bostic, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Colt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bostic half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Nice shot by Bostic. Bostic has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donk. Colt catches Bostic right on the button with a cross. Bostic fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Colt sprawls well initially but Bostic persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bostic lands with a punch from half guard. Bostic controlling the action here. Colt is trying to maintain the position but Bostic is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colt might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bostic haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Bostic missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bostic slows the pace down in half guard. Bostic winds up and cracks Colt with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bostic trying to control from half guard but Colt is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colt is looking to control Bostic's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Colt avoid being mounted? Colt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bostic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Colt desperately trying to maintain half guard. Bostic is nestled in close to Colt, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bostic controlling the pace. Colt trying to control from the bottom.
Colt is not content to let Bostic control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bostic thows a huge punch but Colt dodges it nicely.
Bostic sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Colt defending well though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Colt can do anything to dispel that myth. Bostic prevents Colt from improving his position. Colt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bostic. Bostic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bostic stalling. Bostic tries to pass the half guard into mount. Colt knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Colt trying to control from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bostic shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The fighters circling - Colt throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Colt throws a hook but Bostic blocks it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Bostic dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Bostic moves out of range of the body kick from Colt.
Colt loads up on a big right hand but Bostic slips the punch. Bostic misses with a straight right. Bostic moves away from the strike by Colt. Bostic half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Colt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A head kick by Colt misses and Bostic counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bostic trying to control the position from guard on top but Colt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Michael Bostic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bostic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bostic engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Colt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Colt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bostic.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bostic looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Colt has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bostic wants to control from the top but Colt keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Colt blocks a jab. Colt needs to keep his hands up - Bostic had a free shot at his head there. Bostic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Colt manages to avoid it. Henry Colt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Colt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bostic sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bostic throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Colt cracks Bostic with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bostic blocks a head kick by Colt.
Colt lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bostic will feel that in the morning. Bostic connects with a single shot there. Bostic has been working on his balance at MY YARD 'Resurrect', so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Colt. Nice shot lands for Colt. A head kick by Colt misses and Bostic counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bostic is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Colt is just riding it out for now. Bostic eventually gives up the hold. Bostic tries to pass to full mount but Colt defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colt wants to improve his position but Bostic is controlling well.
Bostic trying to control the pace. Bostic takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Nice strikes from Bostic there. Colt is looking to control Bostic's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Colt avoid being mounted? Bostic wants to control but Colt is keeping him busy. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bostic looks to land a strike but Colt avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Colt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bostic controls the pace. Bostic trying to control but Colt is working from the bottom. Bostic throwing strikes but missing. Bostic working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Colt's head. Bostic sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bostic is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bostic trying to control the position from guard on top but Colt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Bostic dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Colt pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Bostic stuns Colt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Colt connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bostic momentarily.
Colt throws a lazy head kick and Bostic counters with a nice uppercut. Colt lands a nice looking body kick. Colt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Bostic misses with a hook to the body
and Colt counters with a lovely straight right hand! Colt looks to land a left hand but Bostic moved out of range nicely. Bostic displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Colt throws out the jab. Bostic looks to land a right hand but Colt moved out of range. Colt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bostic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Colt can do to turn this around? A big left from Colt misses. Bostic scores with a sloppy right hand. Colt should have avoided that one. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A head kick misses from Colt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bostic throws a right and a left that Colt avoids nicely. Bostic moves out of range as Colt throws a body kick.
Bostic scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bostic misses with a double jab.

and Bostic counters with a takedown into side control. Bostic working the ground and pound. Colt tries to improve position but can't. Bostic is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Colt's shoulder. That is not cool. Colt taking a bit of punishment here - Bostic scoring with strikes. Bostic in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Colt is not content to let Bostic control the position. Bostic misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Henry Colt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colt wants to control but Bostic postures up. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bostic content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Colt struggling a bit here. Bostic is looking to take a break and control but Colt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bostic has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ground and pound from Bostic seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Colt is looking for a sweep. Bostic working the ground and pound. Colt felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Bostic creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Colt sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. You can see the frustration on Colt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Michael Bostic is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bostic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Colt has escaped the position, nice work there. Colt is looking for a sweep. Bostic scores with a couple of short elbows. Bostic takes a little break here. Colt wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Colt holds on to Bostic's head and controls the position momentarily. Colt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bostic wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bostic is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Bostic showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bostic, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
