PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noel Brown (ranked 2243 p4p, 2784 weight class) and Emil Nikolov (ranked 279 p4p, 322 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Emil Nikolov!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolov connects with a right hand. Brown shakes it off.
Brown tries to clinch up but Nikolov circles away and keeps his distance.
Nikolov is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Brown takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nikolov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Brown moves into range and clinches up with Nikolov.
Nikolov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nikolov lands a shoulder strike.
Brown tries to pull guard but Nikolov forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Brown tries to pull guard but Nikolov holds him up against the cage and eventually Brown drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Brown blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Brown tries to pull guard but Nikolov won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noel Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown jumps guard but Nikolov turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Nikolov lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nikolov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nikolov doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Nikolov tries to work over Brown's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Brown fails to pull guard.

Brown pulls guard effortlessly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nikolov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nikolov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brown is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown is trying to control the position but Nikolov postures up.

Brown looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Nikolov is defending well. Brown quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Nikolov has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Brown celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
