PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Anudo (ranked 1895 p4p, 2192 weight class) and Jack Spade (ranked 278 p4p, 317 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Spade's choice of entrance music: Ace of spades by Motorhead. Jack Spade acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mac Anudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Spade!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anudo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Spade shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anudo but Anudo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Anudo tries to bum rush Spade with a series of wild strikes but Spade uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Spade shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anudo as he avoids it easily.
Anudo throws a jab when Spade was well out of range.
The fighters circling - Spade throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Spade looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Spade wants to control from the top but Anudo keeps moving.
Spade stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anudo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anudo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spade wants to control from the top but Anudo keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jack Spade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spade swings around for an armbar but Anudo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Spade's guard.

Anudo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spade can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Spade has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Anudo escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Anudo!

That was a close second round but I would say that Mac Anudo will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Spade shoots in and drives through. Anudo sprawls well.

Spade drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Anudo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Spade goes for a takedown attempt but Anudo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Spade changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anudo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Anudo wants to free his trapped foot but Spade is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Anudo has control of Spade's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Spade regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Anudo looking to secure an arm triangle but Spade defends it well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mac Anudo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Anudo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
