Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Hoyle (ranked 2818 p4p, 2831 weight class) and Steve Wilson (ranked 368 p4p, 370 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fred Hoyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Wilson! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson looks to score with a jab to the body but Hoyle is just out of range. Wilson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hoyle backs up against the cage.
It looks like Fred Hoyle has been cut. Steve Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wilson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. A swing and a miss from Wilson. Wilson swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hoyle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hoyle rushes Wilson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wilson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Wilson slips a straight right by Hoyle. Donk. Wilson catches Hoyle right on the button with a cross. Hoyle looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hoyle throws a big shot that misses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wilson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hoyle on the side of the head. Wilson tries to keep at a distance but Hoyle has taken the fight into the clinch. Hoyle lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoyle fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A short right from Hoyle on the inside. Hoyle pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Wilson blocks an elbow strike from Hoyle.
Hoyle lands an elbow just above Wilson 's eye.
It looks like Steve Wilson has been cut. A shot in the inside from Hoyle. Hoyle lands a hook to the side of the head. Hoyle lands with a short head shot on the inside. Hoyle lands a body punch. Hoyle pushes off an throws an elbow but Wilson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Wilson blocking some punches.
Hoyle lands an elbow inside that Wilson shrugs off. Hoyle goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hoyle swings wildly with an uppercut but Wilson uses good head movement to avoid it. Wilson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson misses with a hook
and Hoyle counters with a straight right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wilson misses with a body shot.
Hoyle throws a hook to the side of Wilson's head but Wilson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Wilson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hoyle slips under a jab from Wilson. Wilson jabs Hoyle to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hoyle misses with an uppercut. Wilson saw that one coming. Wilson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hoyle lands the left hand. Hoyle cracks Wilson with a hook to the temple - Wilson is on wobbly legs here! Hoyle swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Wilson falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Hoyle wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Fred Hoyle! During a confident post fight interview, Fred Hoyle thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
