Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pike Merry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Fury!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Fury misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Fury misses the target.
Merry thuds his right hand into Fury's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Merry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fury sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fury with the counter takedown but Merry avoids it easily.
Merry swinging wildly here.
Fury feints the counter takedown.
Merry tries to clinch up but Fury circles away and keeps his distance.
Merry throws a half hearted mid kick.

Merry throws a good cross that connects.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Merry tries to sprawl but Fury drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fury is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Merry tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Fury has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fury content to control rather than advance.

Well, if Fury is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fury lands a nice short elbow.
Fury looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Fury is nestled in close to Merry, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fury winds up and cracks Merry with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Merry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
