Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonatane Veainu (ranked 326 p4p, 1408 weight class) and Johnny Saigon (ranked 52 p4p, 190 weight class). Saigon has chosen Run through the jungle as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saigon thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Veainu if he has to take too many more of those.
Veainu throws a right hand that misses
and Saigon counters with a nice uppercut.
Veainu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A little jabbing left from Saigon on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Saigon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Veainu.

Saigon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Veainu tests Saigon's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Veainu is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Saigon's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

This has been an exciting period of action!

It seemed like Saigon was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Saigon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Veainu.
Saigon looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Saigon is still on wobbly legs! Can Veainu finish him?
Saigon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Veainu throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Saigon seems to have recovered his senses.

Saigon jabs Veainu to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Veainu takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Veainu drops Saigon with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Saigon looks back up at him and smiles so Veainu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Are you kidding me?! Veainu ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Saigon clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
