Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scottie Lamez (ranked 919 p4p, 1532 weight class) and Seamus Murphy (ranked 51 p4p, 88 weight class). Murphy has chosen Molly Malone- The Dubliners as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Seamus Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy tries to keep at a distance but Lamez has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lamez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Murphy defends it easily.
Lamez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Murphy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lamez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murphy has managed to get both his arms back between Lamez's legs - danger averted.
Murphy wants to stand but Lamez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lamez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Murphy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lamez.
