Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bad Boy Bernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reeves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Motley Crye - Kickstart My Heart. Bad Boy Bernie will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Steve Reeves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bad Boy Bernie! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reeves clinches. Bernie managing to block the knees to the body from Reeves.
Reeves breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reeves throws a quick inside leg kick. Bernie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Reeves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Reeves is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bernie knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Reeves throws an elbow but Bernie slips to the side and avoids it well. Reeves tries to advance to mount but Bernie denies him. Reeves takes a little break here. Bernie wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Reeves has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bernie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reeves wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves wants to control but Bernie is keeping him busy. Bernie wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Bernie on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Reeves looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bernie avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Reeves. Reeves looking to control but instead Bernie has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Bernie controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Reeves wants to free his trapped foot but Bernie is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bernie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bernie is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Reeves has his hands clasped together but Bernie extends an breaks Reeves's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Bernie.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bad Boy Bernie!
