Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prince Pierce (ranked 6277 p4p, 25004 weight class) and Greg Gregory (ranked 651 p4p, 757 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Prince Pierce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Gregory! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Chris Dean and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gregory slips a straight right by Pierce. Gregory drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Pierce defends it well. Pierce tries to bum rush Gregory with a series of wild strikes but Gregory uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pierce throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pierce takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gregory shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierce but Pierce pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pierce swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Gregory showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pierce.
Pierce fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gregory has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Gregory blocks a head kick by Pierce.
Gregory closes the distance and clinches. Gregory tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pierce avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gregory is trying to force a seperation but Pierce has the dominant position. Pierce definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gregory pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pierce misses with a body kick. Pierce throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gregory decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pierce's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gregory wants to get up but he can't break Pierce's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gregory wants to control from the top but Pierce keeps moving. Gregory sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gregory trying to control the position from guard on top but Pierce is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gregory wants to stand but Pierce is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gregory postures up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pierce keeping moving, preventing Gregory from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gregory gets a takedown into half guard. Pierce wants to get back to full guard. Pierce is defending against the submission attempts here by Gregory.
Pierce is doing well to control the position and prevent Gregory from advancing to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierce has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gregory is working away from the top position though. Pierce knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gregory on the ground. Well, if Gregory is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Gregory tries to stand and escape but Pierce is controlling the position. Gregory missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Pierce keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pierce throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gregory is looking for a kimura but Pierce is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gregory to get the leverage. Pierce is in trouble now - Gregory has advanced to mount! Pierce is working to get back to half guard.
Gregory controlling his opponent. Pierce is looking to improve his position but Gregory isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee warns Pierce that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pierce swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Gregory dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Pierce throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gregory counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pierce is striking from the bottom but Gregory uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Gregory wants to free his trapped foot but Pierce is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gregory is still trying to improve position. Gregory wants to stand up but Pierce is controlling the position.
Gregory throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gregory passes to side control. Gregory tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gregory throws an elbow but Pierce slips to the side and avoids it well. Pierce is looking to reverse the position. Gregory trying to control the position but Pierce is working away. Pierce is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gregory wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pierce keeps working. Gregory looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pierce is looking for a sweep. Gregory has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gregory trying to control the action but Pierce is working from the bottom. Pierce is trying to control Gregory's posture but Gregory avoids it. Gregory scoring with punches from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gregory is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pierce's shoulder. That is not cool. You can see the frustration on Pierce's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Gregory controls the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Pierce avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gregory changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierce tries to avoid it but Gregory manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierce to the ground. Pierce escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gregory's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pierce connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gregory scrambles back to his feet. Gregory is looking to clinch but Pierce is avoiding it.

Pierce lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A combination from Pierce does no damage. Prince Pierce is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pierce throws a series of punches but Gregory moves out of range. Pierce lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Pierce sizes up Gregory with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Prince Pierce is winning the standup battle so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gregory instigates a clinch. Still in the clinch, Gregory scores with a nice short uppercut. Gregory fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pierce pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pierce throws a right hand that Gregory ducks under and follows up with a left that Gregory also avoids with ease. Pierce fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gregory manages to avoid it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gregory closes the distance and clinches up with Pierce, looking for a takedown. Gregory pushes Pierce against the cage but Pierce circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Prince Pierce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Gregory. Gregory tries to clinch but Pierce is having none of it. Pierce tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gregory was well out of range. Poor timing from Pierce. Gregory feints the counter takedown. Gregory shoots in looking for a takedown but Pierce manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gregory's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Prince Pierce dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Pierce looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pierce pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gregory dodges the punch combination from Pierce.
Pierce sizes up Gregory with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gregory is defended easily by Pierce. Gregory pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pierce throws the left hand but Gregory avoids the punch easily. Gregory is looking for the big counter here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gregory moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Pierce throws a nice looking combination but Gregory bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Prince Pierce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gregory closes the distance and pushes Pierce back into the cage. Pierce just leaning against Gregory, taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierce trying to stall but Gregory improves his position.
Gregory fails to pull guard.
Gregory is looking to take this one to the mat. Prince Pierce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Gregory. Gregory can't get the takedown.
Gregory gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Gregory takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pierce trying to strike off his back.
Gregory wants to control from the top but Pierce keeps moving. Pierce pulls Gregory in close to prevent any damage. Pierce working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gregory slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gregory gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Gregory shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierce but Pierce pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pierce misses with a jab, cross combination.

Pierce closes the distance and lands a one-two. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gregory throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pierce was covering up waiting for the punch and Gregory finishes the takedown easily into guard. Pierce has a closed guard, preventing Gregory from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gregory's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gregory trying to control but Pierce is working from the bottom. Greg Gregory has got the better of the ground game so far. Gregory passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Pierce wants to control but Gregory is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gregory has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pierce defend it? Gregory steps over the head and cranks it - Pierce is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gregory!
