The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vatsadze misses with a left hand
and Godoi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Godoi slips a jab from Vatsadze.
Godoi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Vatsadze misses with a hook. Godoi ducked under it nicely.
Godoi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vatsadze throws out the jab.
Murtaz Vatsadze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Godoi throws the left hand but Vatsadze avoids the punch easily.
It looked like Vatsadze was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Godoi.
Vatsadze throws a lazy uppercut
and Godoi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vatsadze throws a series of punches but Godoi moves out of range.
Godoi lands a glancing blow to the side of Vatsadze's head.
Vatsadze fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Godoi on the side of the head.

It looks like Guilherme Godoi has been cut.

Vatsadze takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Godoi moves out of range of the strikes.
Vatsadze throws an off balance right hand
and Godoi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Godoi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vatsadze sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vatsadze was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Godoi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vatsadze misses with a hook. Godoi ducked under it nicely.
Vatsadze tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Godoi was well out of range. Poor timing from Vatsadze.
Godoi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fighters circling - Vatsadze throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Vatsadze lands with a hook. Godoi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A nice side step and Godoi releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Godoi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Vatsadze throws a hook but Godoi avoids it easily.
Godoi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vatsadze.
A little jabbing left from Godoi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Vatsadze rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Godoi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Godoi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Vatsadze thinking.
Godoi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vatsadze cracks Godoi with a good jab.
Godoi has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Vatsadze gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Vatsadze misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Godoi.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Godoi! But no joy.
Godoi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vatsadze.
Oh Vatsadze is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
