Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between New Car (ranked 458 p4p, 703 weight class) and Muchy Cartwright (ranked 65 p4p, 109 weight class). Cartwright is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mauled. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, New Car! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Muchy Cartwright! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Chris Dean and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cartwright tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Car was well out of range. Poor timing from Cartwright. Car takes a swing at Cartwright's ribcage but misses. Car seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Cartwright forces Car back against the cage and clinches. Car is defending well against a takedown attempt. Cartwright looking for a takedown. Cartwright crunches a lovely knee into Car's ribcage. Car misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Cartwright has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Car is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. New Car has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muchy Cartwright. Cartwright swings wildly with an uppercut but Car uses good head movement to avoid it. Cartwright is looking for a takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cartwright obliges. Cartwright is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Car is defending well. Car takes an elbow to the forehead. Cartwright is leaning against Car and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright looking for a takedown. Car pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick from Cartwright lands but Car takes it in his stride. Cartwright tries to clinch there but Car circles away.
It looked like Car wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Car throws a body punch but Cartwright moves out of range. Car blocks a head kick by Cartwright.
Cartwright throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cartwright tries to clinch but fails miserably letting Car counter with a right hand. Car tries to bum rush Cartwright with a series of wild strikes but Cartwright uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cartwright tries to clinch up but Car circles away and keeps his distance. Car is looking to counter punch. Car avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Muchy Cartwright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A right-left combo lands from Car.
It looks like Muchy Cartwright has been cut. Cartwright moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cartwright goes for a takedown in the clinch but Car prevents it.
Cartwright wants the takedown. Car is fighting it off but Cartwright persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Car's guard against the cage. Cartwright throws a big right hand that misses. Car can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cartwright controls the pace. Cartwright with a nice head shot there. Car doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Car will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Car trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Cartwright throwing strikes but missing. Cartwright trying to control the position from guard on top but Car is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cartwright forces his way into half guard. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Cartwright not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cartwright decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Cartwright has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Car finds it's way round the side to connect with Cartwright's head. Car swats away the attempt to clinch by Cartwright. It looked like Car was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Cartwright uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Car.
Car circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cartwright darts in trying to clinch and Car counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cartwright forces Car back against the cage and clinches. Cartwright stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Car blocks an elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Cartwright. Car is trying to push Cartwright away but Cartwright has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Cartwright connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like New Car has been cut. Car breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Car avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cartwright is looking to clinch. Cartwright fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cartwright throws a right hand that Car ducks under and follows up with a left that Car also avoids with ease. Car stuffs the takedown. An attempted straight right counter from Car misses the target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cartwright moves to clinch but Car breaks away and Car counters with a left to the body. Car circles away from the clinch attempt.
Car was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Cartwright is looking to clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Muchy Cartwright will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Car throws a body punch but Cartwright moves out of range. Cartwright moves into the clinch successfully.
Car prevents the takedown attempt.
Cartwright is trying to trip Car. He has hold of a leg but Car is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cartwright persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Car throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Car tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cartwright slips nicely into half guard. Cartwright blocks the strikes from Car.
Car is looking to improve his position.

Cartwright looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Car with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cartwright thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Car's head. Car tries to roll over but Cartwright keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Car knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cartwright on the ground. Ground and pound from Cartwright. Car punching from the bottom.
Cartwright lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Cartwright slips a nice elbow through Car's hands, connecting with Car's forehead. Cartwright sitting and controlling from the half guard. Cartwright trying to control from half guard but Car is working away. Cartwright perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Car has a hand on Cartwright's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Cartwright takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Cartwright has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cartwright cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Car is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cartwright takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Oh Car is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Cartwright with the ground and pound from mount. Car throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Cartwright lands a big elbow - Car is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Car is forced to tap out!
